Renee Tetzloff met her Savior at the gate of heaven on June 5, 2022. She passed away at home. She was receiving Hospice care ,having battled leukemia four years. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM November 3 at First Christian Church.
Renee Terry Cynthia Watson was born June 16, 1944 at Bismarck, ND to Terry and Sylvia Watson while Terry was stationed in France during World War II. She graduated Bismarck High 1962. She met Alvin Tetzloff, who was recently returned from service in the Navy and married April 6, 1963. They had two daughters. They resided in Bismarck until Alvin secured a job with the Corps of Engineers, Riverdale, ND, then moved to Garrison, ND , transferring to Oregon in 1984 with the Corps.
Renee was faithful to her calling as a wife and mother, primarily a homemaker she did clerical and retail work. She loved animals, which fostered in her children an appreciation for all creatures. She trained her first Lhasa puppy for show. As a pet parent she had birds and fell in love with bunnies. A lifelong friend, she valued her relationships with the people she met while engaging in cake decorating, knitting groups, book clubs, church activities and online trading. She was also instrumental in helping to establish a rose garden at Seufert Park, The Dalles Dam Visitor Center while Alvin was maintaining the grounds.
She will be remembered as a faithful wife, mother and friend. She was a merciful giver who ran with patient endurance the race that was her life, keeping her eyes fixed on Jesus. She was passionate for her family and stayed the course through some very challenging times.
When she was diagnosed with leukemia, she opted for treatment. She was able to see her grandson marry, and then hold her first great-grandson, plus 3 more.
A lifelong friend, she maintained relationships with many, including one from grade school and a pen pal from Australia.

Alvin Tetzloff went Home to meet his Lord and Savior October 10, 2022. He was a resident at the Oregon Veterans Home in The Dalles.
Alvin Tetzloff was born on the homestead in Grant County, ND to Gustav and Pauline Tetzloff April 30, 1941. He was a second generation immigrant. It was a traumatic birth, delivered by midwives. He wasn’t expected to live, and if he did, the doctor said, he probably wouldn’t live to see his twelfth birthday. He was number twelve of 14 siblings.
His mother hemorrhaged after giving birth to the youngest baby girl. Alvin was almost three at the time of her passing. His father died when he was fourteen, and he went to live with Herbert and Clara Gunsch. Herbert was Alvin’s sister’s(Rosemary) brother-in-law. As a foster child living on the farm Alvin learned husbandry. When he became of age he joined the Navy.
When his tour was over, he returned to North Dakota where he met Renee Watson. They married April 6, 1963 at Bismarck, ND. They had their first daughter, Julie in 1964 and second daughter, Jamey in 1965.
Even though Alvin had only an eighth grade education, he found work in various trades. As a private businessman, he trimmed trees; then he worked for the City of Bismarck. He joined the Corp of Engineers at the Garrison Dam project in the mid-70’s and transferred to The Dalles in 1984. After an early retirement from the Corps, he attained his GED from Columbia Gorge Community College in 1999.
He enjoyed baking bread, developing his own special recipe. He liked to spend time outside camping, fishing, hiking, ice skating and sled riding with his family. He made home improvements, having been a jack of all trades. He always had time for his grandsons. One time when he took them camping, they packed the Pinto to the hilt, leaving only enough room for three bodies and a jar of peanut butter. He appreciated music and encouraged his offspring in their musical aspirations. Alvin was active in his church and enjoyed studying the Bible. Both Alvin and Renee practiced hospitality, always offering a cup of coffee and whatever they had on hand.
He is survived by two daughters, Julie (Benny) Parries, The Dalles; Jamey(David)Thorson, Oakland, CA; two grandsons, Eli(significant other, Alyssa Hauser), The Dalles; Daniel(Victoria)Parries, White Salmon, WA; four great-grandchildren: Ethan, Uriah, Violet and Luckess; his sisters: Rosemary Gunsch, Bismarck, ND and Ann Zoccole, Santa Cruz, CA; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Renee; his parents and his siblings: Arthur Tetzloff, Elma Haberstroh, Frederick Tetzloff, Reinhardt Tetzloff, Raymond Tetzloff, Arlene Ingalls, Adeline Dalke, Pauline Earls, Evelyn Sodervick, Ruben Tetzloff and Anita Welsh.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church in The Dalles Thursday November 3 at 10:00.
Arrangements for his cremation were made at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in The Dalles.

Junie was a women of many hats, daughter, niece, aunt, godmother, Grandma, GG, friend, teacher, volunteer, bowler, baker/pie maker and most importantly a woman of God in the Catholic Church.
Junie, don’t call me June, was born October 20th, 1927, in Spokane, WA to Joe and Junietta. Junie was an only child who’s early years were spent in Iowa then in Chicago.
From 5-7 she went to Hillcrest Boarding School in Beaver Dam, WI where she learned to torture her children with the correct use of cutting one’s meat and setting a table. At 12 her family moved to Point of Rock Sarasota, Fl. It was there that Junie developed her love of the Ocean with Adventures of swimming, fishing, crabbing, eating shrimp (her favorite food) and riding her bike up and down the coastline. She even made her way to Silver Springs where she fondly remembered her rides with herpetologist Ross Allen in his boat.
Junie chose to move to Mt Vernon Iowa in 1944 to live with Grandma Jettie and complete her senior year. Junie went on to The University of Louisville, she always booed the Kentucky wildcats when they were on TV, to study home economics and become a teacher. Being a Social Creature, she joined the Delta Zeta Sorority. After one year of college Junie decided to go to work as a bookkeeper for ADP.
She graduated to Wasco, OR in 1948 to work at Uncle Howards Chrysler dealership. Her life changed forever as she met the man of her dreams, a man of God, family and Country, George Macnab. Their first date has going to Church with Grandma Bee.
After a whirlwind romance they were married June 10th, 1950. Junie who didn’t really know how to cook was thrust into a position of feeding, cleaning, and mothering a large harvest crew. She quickly learned that cherry pie with the pits intact was not a good experiment.
Five years later mom got her wish, children. Mike 1955, Dennis 1958, and Tim 1961. They then started practicing the rhythm method and had three girls in 30 months, Junie, Susie, and Bonnie.
Junie was actively involved in her children’s lives passing the love of swimming, sewing, cooking, family and most important the love of God to them.
Junie shuttled kids to sporting events, bowled, was a long time sewing 4H leaders, volunteering as a Librarian for the city of Wasco, and finally in 1983 was awarded Huskie Booster of the year.
In 1984 George and Junie moved to The Dalles, OR to own their very first home. Junie was active in her church, PEO, community events, bowling, gardening, cookie making for the neighborhood kids, and being a Grandma and even officiating Grandpa and the Grandkids pancake eating contests.
